Using Search Engine DatA to Formulate Better FAQs

This post is filed under “low-hanging fruit”. The topic is Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and how to use publicly available search engine data to formulate better FAQs using the same keywords used by prospects.

Second to the home page, the Complete Mouth Care System is Dr. Ellie’s most viewed page and it makes sense that the FAQs live on this page. However, if you have a look below, there are only four questions, the answers are too short and don’t take advantage of the keywords and phrases that people are searching for. In other words, the FAQs are like the person on the back of the tandem bike who’s pedalling for appearances but not really contributing.

Here is a glimpse of some of the top keywords that result in one of Dr. Ellie’s pages being returned. I only highlighted queries that didn’t have the clear intent of returning Dr. Ellie’s website. In other words, the queries I’m considering now are likely from people who have no idea about the Total Mouth Care System or Dr. Ellie.

Next let’s spend a couple of minutes searching Google for commonly asked questions that are addressed by Dr. Ellie’s Total Mouth Care System.

Once you ask one question, Google hands you more popular and related questions on a silver platter.

Below is one more example.

Formulating relevant FAQs, both questions and answers, is highly underrated, in my opinion. When done well, it’s an SEO-booster and more importantly, it provides high value to your prospects and could very well be their entry into your world and offering.
